A HEALTHIER HOUSE

The way we live our life as well as the way our houses are built can have a huge impact on our health and our planet.

Rates of asthma and allergies have been steadily increasing since the 1970s in all modern countries. Poor indoor air quality is one of many causes, but not the least: in order to use less energy, we built houses with a very level of air infiltration. Indoor air can therefore be affected by microbial contaminants mold, bacteria), gases (includign carbon monoxide, radon, volatile organic compounds), particulates, or any mass or energy stressor that can induce adverse health conditions. Indoor air is becoming an increasingly more concerning health hazard than outdoor air.

Using ventilation to dilute contaminants, filtration and natural materials are the primary methods for improving indoor air quality in most buildings.

RENEWABLE ENERGIES

We usually suggest using a hydronic heating system plus an electrical water heater. But as an eco-conscious company, we also offer green alternatives such as :

- Solar water heating systems

- Solar powered hydronic heating systems

- Geothermal heat pomp

- Photovoltaic  solar energy

- Mechanical ventilation heat recovery

To help you choose the best possible options, your plan is independently reviewed and verified to assess its level of energy efficiency. If necessary we adapt it to meet your budget and your goal in terms of energy saving.

Switching from a traditional water heater to a solar water heater is easy and has no other impact to your project.

Hydronic radiant floor heating systems use a boiler or district heating to heat water and a pump to circulate the hot water in plastic pipes installed in a concrete slab.

The pipes, embedded in the floor, carry heated water that conducts warmth to the surface of the floor where it broadcasts heat energy to the room above.

It can be combined with a geothermal heat pump or ground source heat pump (GSHP) is a central heating and/or cooling system that pumps heat to or from the ground. It uses the earth as a heat source (in the winter) or a heat sink (in the summer). This design takes advantage of the moderate temperatures in the ground to boost efficiency and reduce the operational costs of heating and cooling systems, and may be combined with solar heating to form a geosolar system with even greater efficiency.

BUILDINGS MATERIALS NATURAL

The least expensive energy and least polluting is that which one consumes! This is why an excellent insulation is more than ever the base impossible to circumvent of a balanced and respectful project of construction of the environment.
